Long Run extends the Great Northern portfolio into a more premium territory while staying true to the brand’s outdoors DNA. Inspired by the colours, textures and long shadows of the Australian outback, the identity blends rugged authenticity with refined quality cues. From the longhorn bullock icon to stencil typography and golden barley details, the result is a confident, distinctly Australian expression capturing the spirit of the open country.

Great Northern Brewing Co is the largest beer brand in Australia. To fuel the next phase of growth, an opportunity emerged to meet rising consumer demand for a more premium, high-quality option within the portfolio. Our brief was to create an endorsed ultra-crisp lager that felt elevated yet unmistakably part of the Great Northern world:  a beer that captured the spirit, freedom and allure of the great outdoors.

Inspired by the long, stretched shadows cast across the outback at sunset, the new brand was named Long Run. The visual identity draws directly from this landscape: rugged textures that echo the parched earth, warm tones that mirror the raw Australian terrain, and a design language anchored in authenticity.

At its centre sits the quintessential Queensland longhorn bullock - a symbol of resilience and rural strength. Stencil typography, referencing the branding irons used on station bullocks, reinforces the product’s hardworking, outdoors heritage. Gold barley sheaves speak to locally sourced premium ingredients, adding a refined layer of craft and quality.

Together, these elements form a brand world that is earthy, bold and unmistakably Australian. Long Run tells a story of resilience, authenticity and craftsmanship - a premium beer born from the untamed spirit of the outdoors.
